Water ring vacuum pumps with bronze impellers feature bronze alloy’s advantages of no spark generation upon impact, rust resistance and flexible wear resistance. Their main application scenarios are outlined as follows:

Operations involving extraction of flammable and explosive gases. Used for oil and gas recovery, extraction of light hydrocarbon vapor, negative-pressure operations of fuel storage tanks and other processes. The non-sparking property of bronze eliminates explosion hazards, and such pumps are often equipped with explosion-proof motors to meet ATEX safety standards.

Marine and coastal water environments. Applied to water priming for ships, negative-pressure drainage inside cabins. Bronze delivers far superior anti-rust performance than cast iron impellers in seawater and brackish water, making it ideal for vacuum systems on offshore platforms and coastal factories. It can withstand long-term exposure to slightly saline humid surroundings.

Drinking water and food processing industries. Copper inhibits bacterial growth and prevents iron rust contamination of materials. Widely adopted for juice concentration, syrup purification, vacuum can sealing, vacuum dehydration of food ingredients, degassing of purified water and other clean processes. It complies with common hygiene requirements for edible production lines.

General neutral chemical processes. Suitable for vacuum distillation, crystallization, drying of mild corrosive light solvents such as ethanol, and negative pressure air supply for fermentation tanks. Bronze impellers are preferred when the medium contains no strong acid or alkali corrosion.

Water priming for water pump stations. Used to evacuate air and prime large centrifugal pumps before startup, as well as circulating degassing in waterworks, ensuring stable long-term operation under mild water quality conditions.

Light manufacturing industry. Deployed for negative pressure forming during rubber and plastic vulcanization, mold vacuum pumping, vacuum adsorption for packaging, material dehydration in leather and textile production and other general negative pressure operations.

This type of pump is not applicable for media containing abundant hard sediment particles or strong acid/alkali corrosives. Hard grit will rapidly abrade bronze impellers; stainless steel impeller models should be selected for heavily corrosive working conditions. Compared with cast iron versions, bronze impellers also produce less friction noise and have a longer service life under non-abrasive medium conditions.
