Precautions for Automatic Mixing Sewage Submersible Pump

2026-09-29 14:00

(1) Before operation, use a megohmmeter to check the insulation resistance to earth of the motor stator winding. The value shall not be less than 50 MΩ.

(2) Inspect the cable for damage, breakage and other defects. Replace damaged cables promptly to prevent electric leakage. The cable cross-section shall match the electric current.

(3) Do not start the electric pump if the voltage exceeds ±10% of the rated voltage.

(4) For safety, the earthing wire in the 4-core cable must be reliably earthed to prevent electric shock accidents.

(5) When submerging the pump into water, lift it vertically. Laying it horizontally on the ground or burying it in sludge is prohibited. When out of service, lift the pump out, clean it thoroughly, store it in a dry place and take anti-freezing measures.

(6) Never use the cable as a hoisting rope for installation.

(7) Check the rotation direction of the rotor. It shall rotate clockwise when viewed from top to bottom.

(8) Outdoor switches and wiring terminals shall be equipped with rainproof and moisture-proof protection. Do not touch switches with wet hands or bare feet to avoid electric shock.

(9) Cut off the power supply before moving the pump. Personnel must not come into contact with the water source while the pump is running, to prevent personal injury caused by electric leakage.

(10) Never run the motor under phase loss condition. If the fuse blows, identify the root cause before reuse. Do not arbitrarily use thicker fuses.

(11) The pump shall be monitored by dedicated personnel during operation. Stop it immediately for inspection and troubleshooting in case of abnormal conditions. (Applicable to pumps without automatic protection cabinet).

(12) After 6 months of normal operation under specified medium conditions, inspect the sealing condition of the oil chamber. If the oil inside the oil chamber turns milky or has water sediment, replace No.10~20 machine oil and mechanical seal in a timely manner. Pumps working under harsh conditions require more frequent maintenance.

(13) Select proper flow rate and head according to actual working conditions to achieve optimal performance. The parameters shown on the pump nameplate or manual represent its best operating point. The allowable operating range is 0.7~1.2 times of the rated flow. Operation beyond the maximum flow is forbidden. Excessive flow with insufficient head will easily cause motor overload.

Maintenance of Automatic Mixing Sewage Submersible Pump

1. The submersible pump shall be operated and managed by dedicated personnel. The insulation resistance between the motor winding and the pump casing shall be checked regularly to ensure normal operating conditions.

2. After each use, especially after pumping thick and viscous slurry, run the pump in clean water for several minutes to flush out internal deposits and keep the pump clean.

3. If the pump will not be used for a long time, lift it out of the water instead of keeping it submerged permanently. This prevents moisture accumulation in the motor stator windings and extends the pump service life.

4. After disassembly and maintenance, the pump casing assembly must undergo a 0.2 MPa air tightness test to ensure reliable motor sealing performance.

5. The sealing ring installed between the impeller and pump casing plays a key sealing role. Any damage to the sealing ring will directly affect pump performance and shall be replaced in a timely manner when necessary.
